What Charleen loves about this:
I look for the distant and difficult challenge and this quote reminds me to slow down and find contentment in who and where I am now.

Charleen-I love you insights and feel they resonate with me. Lauren suggested that I read your postings and I am so glad that she did.

Have you ever felt yourself stuck in the way that you,and other people have chosen to define you?

Hi Heather, nice to meet you and thanks for your comments.  I thought about your question and here is what came out..... For as long as I can remember, I have lived a duel life; one of participant and the other as observer.  These duel lives are parallel an...

OMG Charleen that was a great story. Its imagery was so clear. I felt like I could see you as a young person. I would love to hear about Madrid. Wisdomology is most definitely the place to come to discover yourself in a most fascinating way. We ask each other thought...

Or as it states in Genesis: "God was in this place, and I, I did not know it."  It is not that what we seek is elsewhere, it's that we fail to see it where we are.  I really like this quote and the thoughts you share with it.  Thanks.

Thank you, Lauren, for this guidepost for returning home.  Why do you think we are discontent with ourselves?  Why do we want to be someone else?

Have a beautiful day,

Charleen

We do tend to think we are lacking.  Maybe it is because we have everyone else held up as an example.   It would be so much better to help them be their best self instead of being like so and so.

I believe that we are discontent with ourselves because we have been taught forever that enough is not enough, that there is always something/someone better-but when we get to where we thought we wanted to be there's still smewhere else to go. We are meant to question...

Hi Charleen.  That's a very deep question.  I think about this alot, actually.  My belief is that we have two selves, the egoic self (mind the lower case "s") and the spiritual Self.  In fact, there is an interpretation of the passage I q...

We are discontent with ourselves because we don't really know our true selves. We haven't taken the time to get to know ourselves. We sometimes want to be someone else because we see them and think their lives are better than ours. It's like "the grass is...
