What heatherhedyjon loves about this:
I have to say that this reminds me so much of my sister, almost 9 years my senior. Forever she will see me as a 12 year old and herself a 20 or 21 year old. Also I've reconnected with some old family friends that still see my younger sister and I as we were 20+ years ago-not the women we've become.

It seems that only those we meet as we grow at different stages can see us as we are. Our family can only see us the way we were before we grew up and left them to live our lives.

Maybe we should think of people as trees.  Growing new leaves, new branches taking off and growing where life and our whims take us.  Our shape changes, like a tree.  But we are still the same person with new dimensions.  Always and Never changing.

I think of myself similiarly but as a river-it always looks the same but is forever changing-even when it seems still. Even everything within it it always flowing, changing.
