So much . . . The simplest interpretation is "Well, you can't be Moses, but at least you can be the best that you are." But it's really saying something more: It is as important in God's plan that you be you as it was for Moses to be Moses. If each of us is an expression of God's will, then it is critically important that we embrace and fulfill who we truly are. I don't think this is should be taken to be a prescription for perfectionism, but perhaps a nudge that we ask ourselves: Who am I in God's eyes?

Hi Triara. The two books that began my study of Jewish thought twenty five years ago (can that be right? Yikes!) are books that I return to again and again.  They are both thankfully still in print.  They are "I Asked for Wonder: A Spiritual Anthology"...
