I was in a training this weekend where we arrived at this place of asking ourselves, if we do not have awareness (conscious awarenss) can we ever truly know ourselves.

Good question, puzzling. Often we don't even know that we don't know, because we think that we know, this is our impression, and sometimes is so deeply "seeded" in us that it started to control our life and (well?-)being.
