What ScorpioSun52 loves about this:
I live my life by the principle of paying it forward. In my work as an events logistical director on a college campus in New York City, I regularly work with a lot of students who are just starting out in life or who have suffered some hardships along the way. In my dealings with them, I share pieces of my life experiences to help illuminate their paths in life and to show them that they are not alone in their quests. As a consequence,, I am seen as a kind of down to earth mother/sister/friend figure to many of them and am sought out for advice on a regular basis. I do this out of love, as much as I do this as a way to offer them the kind of guidance I didnot receive when I was young. I want them to have a chance to do things that I could not, and to know that much of what they are experiencing can be overcome. If I offer an example, then the message becomes clearer to them, and most importantly, I have shared a part of myself - openly and willingly.

I am more than happy to share this. I thank you so much for your comment as it reinforces what I have intuitively known all long, but still required acceptance for throughout my life. Unfortunately, my approach  is sometimes viewed as odd, and as a consequence I...

How strange that your approach has not be always viewed as the correct one? When I was trained in London, few years back, to become group facilitator/ emotional intelligence, the approach our tutors gave us was exactely like yours! We were encouraged to share something ab...

Gopal, what you do is a gift that I appreciate more than I can adequately express here. I want to add that sometimes my approach is viewed as somewhat "different" than what is expected in the business world and I am viewed at times as being "too open" ...
