We hear disturbing events happening regarding child abuse, some by the hands of their own caregivers/parents. Some remorse what they have done, others do not; even after being exposed to how much pain and suffering the child had experienced. (This also goes for adults but I focus on children b/c they are more vulnerable and less capable of fighting back). My question is, why? What is "wrong" with those who show no sign of compassion or remorse, something we all are at our core.
