Perhaps the best way to convey who I am is to report the three characteristics I have chosen as my goals in raising my two sons: secure, inquisitive and empathetic. It seems to me that someone who has those three traits is well on his or her way to being a mensch.

More specifically, the causes that get me up in the morning are about building a society that values people, their work and their relationships. Over the past 20 years or so, I have worked in different roles in many different organizations--most nonprofit, but one stint in the corporate world--with the goal of helping people succeed at working effectively and receive appropriate rewards for their work.

My current primary professional role is as Executive Director of a small nonprofit public interest law center. I also have a consulting practice to help other nonprofits raise money and use it wisely to fulfill their mission.
