My passion for many years has been understanding what wisdom is and how it is developed.

I am a writer, independent scholar, and former communication systems engineer. (Details at www.cop.com/aboutcop.html.) I became interested in the nature and development of wisdom back in the 1980s, wrote two books on the subject in the early 1990s, and in 1995 created The Wisdom Page (www.cop.com/wisdompg.html) to provide Internet access to wisdom-related resources. Over the years I've worked together with many other people to increase the site's impact, and we've been making progress. Each month, visitors will have downloaded some 6000 free eBooks and PhD dissertations, clicked almost 20,000 times to view other documents, and Google, MSN, and Yahoo searches for the word "wisdom" will have given The Wisdom Page a high ranking in the search results. Streaming audio/video and podcasts are among the most recent additions. Last year I made screen-read eBook editions of my wisdom books available for free downloading.
