A poem
Setting my eyes on horizon’s far
I am stricken by the glow
and yearning to know
the mystery of the hallow fields
where daisies grow
and honey flows
to immortal rhythms,
a symphony of marigolds
dressed in crystal dewdrops;
golden harps and silver bells
reflecting the sunshine
of no sorrows
A place so near,
yet out of reach
from the day-to-day levity
of strivings many ladders,
and the hardened hearts
and time-card charts
of mammon’s palaces
where has the time gone?
As ambition’s lust revokes
a generation passed
nurtured by the
of the elusive void
and filled with the facts
of no knowledge.
What draws my soul
to days gone by?
with barefoot days
and careless ways;
a rainbow after the storm
and wisdom is reborn
in those hallow fields.
Bringing me to the dawn
of years gone-by
those hallow fields my heart draws nigh
singing to me
a strange soul symphony,
a song of peace,
a shalom of irrepressible depth
below which no ocean flows
into the harmony
of my soul
Come dance with me, my love
let the dewdrops
make you thirst no more
and let the flowers sing
as the honey wine
intoxicates us with knowledge
