Don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff. These are the words my father would recite whenever I worried about events and changes in my life. He had other concise sayings which on the surface seemed trivial but contained deep meaning and wisdom. I think of these sayings as folklore mantras. I grab onto them in times of stress and discontent. The words are the knot in the rope I hang onto.
