Namaste and welcome to my Profile-page + Wisdoms + Q & A + Discussions + Images.
GOPAL -- a Hindi word -- literally means 'the protector/ nurturer of the cow' [the animal which is the near-equivalent of 'MOTHER', according to the Hindu belief, and hence one hears of the 'sacred cow']. Gopal is also one of the many names ascribed to Lord Krishna, who shepherded cows in His early youth out of His love for this gentle animal which is so very useful to humans in many ways. My logo -- the prettier and iridescent part of the 'India Blue' peacock [ Pavo cristatus ] feather -- is what adorns Lord Krishna's headgear. So, it has that sacred and spiritual touch to it, as well. Peacock also represents wisdom, compassion, eternal-life and resurrection. In Tibetan Buddhist belief it stands for transformation of evil into goodness, and suffering into spiritual enlightenment.
So much for the background information on my User-Name and Logo on this beautiful website, where I registered [Sept.7, 2007] with my first self-composed quote [the last one on the last-page listed below, here]. I'm thoroughly enjoying my stay here, and trying my bit to contribute what I can, and learn from the insights of others.
I AM an eternal-optimist, botanical scientist by training, and Hindu by faith [ open to good vibes from all religions, though ], who loves all things that relate to SPIRITUALITY & NATURE. Since there's so much to love in our unique biosphere, I adore different colors, plants [especially flowers], gardens, forests, birds, butterflies, mountains, rocks, lakes, waterfalls, oceans, beaches, sky, sunrises and sunsets, clouds, rain, and photography [ more so macro of flowers ].
Because I care for the "Mother Earth", I strongly believe in re-cycling, consuming less of the Earth's resources, wasting little [if I must] and not harming the environment. These are some of my passions that add charm and purpose to my life, besides my family of a beautiful wife and three handsome and grown-up sons.
